You we're getting close to the point I initially meant. To make it clear, I am
organizing my pictures with digikam. XCF files are treated like any other
picture file - a thumbnail is shown and if you open the file, digikam will show
a new window to manipulate this picture.
But if you take a file with an extension of .xcf.bz2 or .xcf.gz, no thumbnail
etc. will be shown. Digikam simply does not known the format. But since it's
only a compressed XCF, this is confusing from the users point of view.
So you see, I don't explicitly talk about showFoto because I only do interact
with digikam and I guessed that the viewing/editing component of digikam is
shotoFoto.
