           Summary: digikam: idea: shorter 'remove tag' menu hierarchy when
                    there only one tag assigned in a tag (sub)tree
           Product: digikam
           Version: 0.8.0-beta2
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: digikam-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: ach mpe mpg de

Version:           0.8.0-beta2 (using KDE 3.4.3, Kubuntu Package 4:3.4.3-0ubuntu1 )
Compiler:          Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.12-9-686

Hi,
a 2 or more levels deep tags takes some time
to remove with the RMB submenues of 'Remove tag'.

It happened here that in many cases that only
one tag in a subtag tree was assigned.  E.g.
in the people subtree, the only tag assigned
is birthday:  people/family/daugther2/birthday

So the 'remove tag submenu could look like

 [remove tag] -> [people / familie /daughter2 / birthday]

i.e. only one level deep, instead of

[remove tag] -> [people] -> [people]
                            [familty] -> [family]
                                         [daugther2] -> [birthday]

But what if you want to remove only part of that tree? Eg. shorten it only to
[people / familie / daughter]

In my opinion this should be WONTFIX.

Hi Mikolaj,

My idea was to only remove birthday.  I usually don't tag a picture only
with the leaf node anyhow.  But is you have selected two tags in the path
you would have to use remove tag rmb menu two times.

Digikam has no 'unassign all tags' below this funktionality in the rmb menu
so nothing is lost.
