about the rest of your comment:
We will rewrite the image preview widget (some day), so I guess your
suggestions will not be implemented in the next time, because we will need to
redo this widget for all imageplugins.
It was planned to have one widget that fits all, not three like we have now.
But this is not done yet.
So I guess we will leave it like it is right now, we can of course change other
things that are weird or unintuitive, but having some draggable circles is
something that needs deep changes (that are only needed by the freerotate
plugin at the moment).
