Hi,
In recent versions of digikam, I can not browse previews. This is how I use to look through my photos, using arrow keys, assigning ratings/flags on the way. Not being able to do so is highly inconvenient. What happens is that after 3-4 images, digikam stops to move the image. The file name in the status changes, but the image does not. Anyone else experiencing similar problems? running digiKam from a console, did you see some warnings/errors ?
Note that you turn on debugs space before following instructions from this page : https://www.digikam.org/contrib Preview come from RAW, JPEG, PNG, TIFF. The way to extract preview is different according to type mime. It seems if I wait long enough, the preview will eventually show. A busy indicator would be good in this case. Maybe a memory issue? Look in digiKam setup for details. Preview from RAw is taken through Exiv2 library. Problem can be located here. Which Exiv2 version do you use ? Can you share some CR2 images to test here ?
