Batch tool "leaving" some JPEG file behind

tosca
Since I've upgraded to 2.7 version, Digikam seems to create some temporary files when I use the batch tool. They are named BatchTool-...-digikamtempfile.JPG and remain in the destination folder.
What are they for? Shouldn't they be deleted at the end of the treatment?

Thanks for you answers,
Marie-Noëlle
