Hello,
When testing shortcuts against this list: http://wiki.openusability.org/guidelines/index.php/Appendices:Keyboard_Shortcuts I didn't spot many conflicts (apart from one F3, more comments in proper place) but many missing functionality. List below apply only to Album view (main window, including Preview mode). Image Editor review will follow later. Please comment about style, readability, etc. Album view: Action New Ctrl+N OK - but should it work only when Album panel is active? Open Ctrl+O Open a document OK - N/A Save Ctrl+S Save the current document OK - N/A Save As Ctrl+Shift+S Save the current document OK - N/A Reload F5 Reload the current document/view OK Ctrl+P Print the current document BAD - should bring Print kipi-plugin, or information about lack of. Close Ctrl+W Close the current document OK for album view (N/A), should quit Preview mode? Quit Ctrl+Q Quit the application OK Edit menu Undo Ctrl+Z Undo the last operation OK - N/A Redo Ctrl+Y Ctrl+Shift+Z Redo the last undone operation OK - N/A Redo Shift+Ctrl+Z Redo last undone operation (alternative) OK - N/A Cut Ctrl+X Shift+Delete Cut the selected area and store it in the clipboard BAD - Doesn't cut selected files, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V work. Copy Ctrl+C Ctrl+Insert Copy the selected area into the clipboard OK Paste Ctrl+V Shift+Insert Paste contents of clipboard at mouse/cursor position OK Select All Ctrl+A Select everything in the contents area OK Deselect Ctrl+Shift+A Deselect everything in the contents area BAD - doesn't deselect Find Ctrl+F Find OK Find Next F3 Find the next match CONFLICT - F3 opens Preview, but F3 for Preview is common shortcut in managers Find Previous Shift+F3 Find previous match CONFLICT - see above, does nothing Replace Ctrl+R Find and replace matches OK - N/A Delete word forward Ctrl+Delete Delete word from current cursor location to the end. OK - works in comments Delete word backward Ctrl+Backspace Delete word from beginning to current cursor location. OK - works in comments Go to line... Ctrl+G Move cursor to the corresponding line. OK - does nothing View Menu Full Screen Mode Ctrl+Shift+F Toggle full screen mode OK Zoom menu Zoom In Ctrl++ Ctrl+= Zoom in to the document (magnify) OK Zoom Out Ctrl+- Zoom out of the document OK Zoom to 100% Ctrl+0 OK - doesn't work in album mode, BAD - doesn't work in Preview mode. Bookmarks menu Add Bookmark Ctrl+B Add a bookmark for the current location OK - N/A Help menu Help F1 Obtain help and documentation for the application OK What's This Shift+F1 Obtain a short help for the currently visible interface elements. OK Navigation Focus to Menu F10 Focus the menu bar. BAD - doesn't focus the menu bar Show Context Menu Ctrl+F10 Menu Show the context menu. BAD - doesn't focus the menu bar Toggle Menu bar Ctrl+M Toggle the appearance of the menu bar. OK? Page Down Space PageDown Scroll down one Screen, displaying the next page if the application normally displays a page at a time. OK Page Up Shift+space PageUp Scroll up one Screen, displaying the previous page if the application normally displays a page at a time. Shift+Space doesn't work Forward Alt+Right Go to next page. OK Back Alt+Left Go to previous page. OK Next Tab Ctrl+PageUp Activate the next Tab. BAD - works as PageUp, could move between panels Previous Tab Ctrl+PageDown Activate the previous Tab. BAD - works as PageDown, could move between panels Next Major Panel F6 Switches focus to the next major panel, e.g. sidebar or content panel in a file manager. Useful to get focus from dockers back to the main window when. BAD - doesn't work Resize Split Pane F8 Switches focus from one split pane to another to resize them via the arrow keys. BAD - doesn't work Text Navigation Beginning of line Home Move cursor to the beginning of the line. OK End of line End Move cursor to the beginning of the line. OK End Ctrl+End Forward Word Ctrl+Right Move cursor to the beginning of the next word. OK Backward Word Ctrl+Left Move cursor to the beginning of the previous word. OK Text Completion Do we need this at all? Select the previous completion match. F8 and F6 may still be used differently, if the window has no split panes (F8) or the definition of main panels is not required, e.g. if there are no dockers (F6). Standard System Shortcuts Navigation Alt+Tab Walk through windows OK Alt+Shift+Tab Walk through windows (reverse) OK Ctrl+Tab Focus to next widget (e.g. to get focus out of text fields). BAD - doesn't work, with Tabs enabled in comments field it works as Tab, with Tabs disabled doesn't work at all Ctrl+Shift+Tab Focus to previous widget (e.g. to get focus out of text fields). BAD - see above Ctrl+F1 ? i will be better to post you investiguations in a new B.K.O files instead ML. life of B.K.O is infinite (:=))). Nothing is lost.
