Hello digikammers,
I have developed a web interface to digikam that I am considering
packaging up for public use, so I'd like to get some feedback to see
whether there's much demand for this sort of application (particularly
considering that some similar ones already exist) and whether anyone
else is willing to help package or develop it.
Features so far:
- AJAX based, all images and meta-information are loaded on the fly.
This makes the frontend quite snappy and intuitive.
- Basic search and filter-by-rating capabilities
- Displays entire album hierarchy sorted by date (and includes a
script that automatically sets album dates based on their contents)
- Displays digikam's saved searches as "galleries"
- Backend written in Python and uses a template system to be easily
customizable
- Includes scripts that I use to generate thumbnails/preview images
and synchronize with the website
- Uses the digikam database file (or a remote copy)
- Allows exclusion of specific images from website based on special tags
My site is currently up at
http://luke.no-ip.org/photography/Please let me know if you would be interested in using this software,
and especially if you'd be interested in helping with it.
Thanks,
Luke
