A few problems with the batch tool manager (Version 3.5.0)

tosca
1) renaming files: it doesn't work like it did in the past. I cannot add any text, nor delete any anything already there in the pattern name. In fact, I cannot even click in the box, nor select anything in it (only use the buttons File and such); and the 'X' button to get rid of whatever is in the box doesn't work either.

2) I miss the previous 'ask when the file already exists' option that has disappeared in this new version: quite often, when the file already exists, that means I've already treated it before, and I don't want to generate a new file, nor override the existing one.
The option was also handy when I need to create a file that has a maximum size (300Ko for example); in that case, the former option asked I want to override or not, and displayed the size that was about to be created, so I had the choice to go on, or cancel for each specific file.

3) I'm trying to add drop shadows on whole batch of pictures, so they appear as if they are framed. The watermark tool seems to be a good candidate for that; infortunately, when both X and Y margins are set to 0%, there seem to be at least 1 remaining pixel top and left margins.
Any idea how to fix this? Or another solution/tool that allows to add drop shadows?

Thanks for your answers,
Marie-Noëlle

-editing work perfectly here (digiKam 4.0.0-beta1)...
-clear button on the right doesn't work too. There is a file in bugzilla open about it. It's certainly a regression with KDElibs which provide parent widget implementation.

yes. this option have been removed. In fact all similar options have been removed from all batch tool (kipiplugins)

The goal is to batch without to ask on user each time that file already exist on HDD when target file must be take place on. After all batch processing much work alone if possible.

How it's work in this case. It's simple : if file exist, we rename target file with an addition suffix as _01, _02, etc...

If you prevent problems with already existing files, use a different target dir for destination files.

This can be a bug in tool. I don't check this one since a long time. Report this problem in bugzilla, please

Best

Hi Gilles,

Don't seem to have a clear mind today: it works for me too... but I didn't see it as the text content of the field is dark grey upon middle grey! It's clearly displayed in the upper box, though.
Another theme/widget conflict, I guess; but it seems to be the only one in the whole Digikam UI, so I didn't pay attention.

I understand your point.
I was used to the previous way, and will have to find another way of doing things to my liking...
