Hi all,
Note : I just updated the announcement page with screenshots and a small sction about new Geolocation Bookmark Editor. https://www.digikam.org/news/2017-05-23-5.6.0-pre-release/ The next 5.6.0 is also postponed to 11/06/2017 to be sure to receive enough feedback for users. Hi,
I’m testing a 5.6-pre appimage bundle right now with a ~45’000 image database (converted from iPhoto) on my Macbook Pro 15“ (2013). One thing I realized is that thumbnails and previews do not (any more? It used to work with 4.x I think) support my Macbook Retina display. So all images look fuzzy. Text and UI does not. I have high res thumbnails turned on. I remember there was some environment setting I could use to enable Retina support. Does this still work and how do I enable it? Hello Gilles,
thumbnails are visible, but they are not „retina display quality“. Direct comparison with the exact same photo in iPhoto shows that the thumbnail is displayed with half resolution. This is independent of whether I have my display scaled or not. Is it possible to make thumbnails use the full Macbook display resolution? (Also, the GPS overlay icon is not displayed any more even when GPS information is present. The tooltip is there, just the icon seems to be invisible, maybe a packaging issue?) Thank you! If older DB file still here, low resolution thumbnails will be used. In thumbnail database file there are only wavelets thumbs stored, and no more important information. It's safe to remove this sqlite file as well and restart digiKam. File will be recreated. > > (Also, the GPS overlay icon is not displayed any more even when GPS information is present. Hi,
default theme, default icon set from MacOS appimage. Other icons are there (as far as I can tell). Also the other overlay icons.
