G'day everybody. I've decided to take the plunge and compile 2.9 on
Fedora 16. Kipi-plugins is giving me grief; I can't seem to find QtKOAuth library anywhere, let alone install it. Without this, it seems that "Configuring incomplete.." Any suggestions? _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

What version of KDE have you got installed? I suspect that it's a slightly older version that doesn't have the latest libraries. You might be able to upgrade KDE without breaking things, I don't know for certain. -- Brian Morrison _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Thanks for your quick reply, Brian. I'm running 4.8. I would happily
upgrade to Fedora 17 and KDE 4.9 but, I have an AMD processor which clearly doesn't play very well with the new kernel required by Fedora 17 (install hangs because the video driver won't work). So, do you feel that I'm stuck here or, is there hope? I dont know what AMD chip you have but I run an AMD Phenom x4 on F17 no
problems. I do find sometimes installing Fedora you need to use the basic video install and sort it afterwards, I use ATI gfx cards which work OK with the free drivers as I dont play games it does not matter. Hi Stuart,
I hope that you don't mind me writing to you via this address but, since this isn't a DigiKam issue (and I wonder if you might be able to provide some guidance) I thought that it would be better this way... I'd be happy to install F17 yet it always hangs from the Live USB because apparently the proper drivers aren't installed. I spent all of last week on the 'net, trying to resolve this issue. In the end, I went back to F16. Very basic question ahead: So, how can I ensure that the functional driver that I'm using now will be the one that the Live USB refers to? Is there a risk of it conflicting with the new kernel used by F17? Which driver is your machine using (Proprietary or, OpenSource)? Can I somehow load these drivers from the command line prior to the Live USB attempting to start the GUI (but hanging miserably prior to that point)? Many thanks in advance if you can point me in the right direction. On 13/11/12 17:09, Stuart T Rogers wrote: > I dont know what AMD chip you have but I run an AMD Phenom x4 on F17 no > problems.
