16 bit PSD in digiKam

I have just started using digiKam following the recent F-Spot upgrade
which no longer supports Raw CRW format.  Great program - love it -
should have used it long ago.  However, while I can open 8-bit PSD
images in DigiKam, I cannot open 16-bit PSD files with the program.  Is
there something I am missing, an additional plugin - or does digiKam
simply not support 16-bit PSD images yet?

It do not support 16 bits PSD yet.

An image loader to support this color depth must be written. Currently, we use Qt/KDE image loader which is limited to 8 bits.

Please, open a file in bugzilla about this subject.
