16 Bit tif

Bugzilla from Jens_Westemeier@web.de
I would like to convert my RAW pictures into 16 Bit tif for further
processing. I have not found any option to convince the batche queue to
generate 16 Bit instead of 8 Bit tif.
I'm using  1.0.0-beta5

Hi,

There is not a a dedicated panel to setup RAW option for each Batch Queue.

Go to digiKam setup dialog, into RAW panel and set on 16 bits color
depth. That all. This panel is used for RAW processing in BQM.

Re: 16 Bit tif

Bugzilla from Jens_Westemeier@web.de
I already did that, but the resulting images seemed to be 8 Bit tif. I checked
that by loading them into Gimp which normally complaints about 16 Bit data.

Jens.

Re: 16 Bit tif

Gimp is not a reference for me. from command line, try exiftool or
load tiff into showfoto and look in Colors panel from the right
sidebar.

Re: 16 Bit tif

Bugzilla from Jens_Westemeier@web.de
exiftools shows
Bits Per Sample                 : 8 8 8
showfoto reports 8 bit color depth

This complies to the filesize, which is 1/4 of the size, generated with other
tools (convert from the ImageMagick package).

In .kde4/share/config/digikamrc I found:

...
[RAW Import Settings]
...
SixteenBitsImage=true
...

Btw., I updated to Beta 6 without change.

Greetings, Jens.
