0.9.4-svn crash

Gandalf Lechner-2
Hi,

I experience the following using digikam 0.9.4-svn, compiled today (14.01.),
with the following library versions:

Kipi 0.1.6
KExiv2 0.1.7
Exiv2 0.12.0
KDcraw 0.1.4
Dcraw 8.81
PNG 1.2.15beta5
Gphoto2 2.4.0

digikam loads fine and shows the thumbnails in album view. But when I click on
any thumbnail, or try to open the image editor, digikam crashes. Below you
can find some debug information.

Best,

Gandalf

Re: 0.9.4-svn crash

Gilles Caulier-4
Gandalf,

Crash appears in Exiv2 library. You use an older version (0.12). Please update to last stable 0.15 or better 0.16 (just released) and all will be fine i think...

Best

Gilles

Forget to said than extragear/libs (libkexiv2 + kipi-plugins) and digiKam need to be recompiled after to have updated Exiv2 library...

Re: 0.9.4-svn crash

Gandalf Lechner-2
Thanks for the quick answer, Gilles,

I downloaded, compiled and installed exiv2 0.16. However, after that make
fails in the svn/libs folder (configure had no complaints, though) ... any
help appreciated :-)

Sure! This phase can be frustrating, but I am optimistic!

Which instructions are you following to install from source?
(e.g. http://www.digikam.org/?q=download/svn ?)

Do you have another exiv2 lying around on your machine?
Did you do a make clean before doing the compile again?
(I.e. there might be some older stuff lying around from
a previous run...).

(If you want you could join the irc channel #digikam
on irc.freenode.net - this might allow for a bit faster discussion ;-)

Best, Arnd

Re: 0.9.4-svn crash

Christian Imiela
Sorry,

maybe I am wrong, but configure asks you to upgrade to the lastest  version of
libs. it works for me. just use the svn version.

greetings

Christian
